Audio notes & transcription

@bridge Notes treats audio as a first-class block: record or attach a clip, play it with a built-in player, and turn it into text with the AI you’ve connected.

Record or attach

1. Record from your mic — capture a voice note without leaving the editor. The clip is saved next to your note (in the vault’s assets/), so it survives folder moves.

2. Or attach an audio file — drop in an existing recording; it gets the same inline player.

Note

Recording via microphone is a Pro feature. Transcribing an attached audio file is available on Personal and Pro. On Free, audio playback works, but recording and transcription are off.

Transcribe or summarise

From an audio block’s ⋮ menu, choose Transcribe (the full transcript) or Summary — the AI you configured turns speech into text, inserted as a quote under the clip. The transcription language is pinned (it won’t drift to the wrong language on short clips) — set it in Settings.

Privacy

Recording and playback are local. Transcription uses the audio provider you configured (a cloud model, or a fully local one) — @bridge never routes the audio through its own servers.
