Does my email leave my machine?
No. atbridge.ai runs as a local process. Your AI talks to it over a localhost socket — not the public internet. We don't operate servers that touch your email. The only thing our servers do is verify your subscription.
Is atbridge.ai faster and cheaper than a cloud MCP?
Yes, measurably. Because atbridge.ai runs locally, a direct operation — reading a message, listing folders — completes in single-digit milliseconds — faster than the network round-trip a cloud tool pays before it even starts work. And because it returns plain text instead of full HTML by default, a typical fetch uses about 72% fewer tokens (~3.5× cheaper) with no unsolicited HTML.
What counts as an "operation"?
One operation = one action that fetches or changes mail: a search, a list, a send, a reply, a forward, a move, a delete, a contact create/update. Follow-ups that don't fetch new data — opening a message you just listed, reading a thread you already pulled, viewing a contact you searched — do not count. Plan and bridge meta-commands never count.
Is VAT included in the price?
No — the prices shown are exclusive of VAT. VAT is calculated and added at checkout based on your billing country. EU buyers will see their applicable rate applied automatically by Stripe. You'll see the final amount including VAT before completing payment.
What happens when my 14-day Free trial ends?
You keep CLI access and 20 operations per month, forever. You lose MCP (so AI agents can no longer call you directly — but the CLI still works). Outbound mail gets a small "Sent with atbridge" footer. Upgrade anytime to remove both.
What does the early-bird price get me?
If you subscribe before Nov 1, 2026, you lock in €4.99 (Personal) or €9.99 (Pro) per month — forever. Stripe never auto-migrates subscribers to a new price, so as long as your subscription stays active, your monthly cost never changes. After Nov 1, the same plans cost €7.99 and €14.99 for new subscribers.
Can I pay annually?
Yes — annual billing opens on Nov 1, 2026 (when the early-bird window ends). Annual works out to two months free vs. paying monthly. Early-bird subscribers stay on monthly billing — the held while subscribed monthly rate is already the best deal we offer.
Do I need to be technical to use it?
No. You install the atbridge add-on in Thunderbird from the .xpi file, then a setup wizard walks you through the rest — setting things up and connecting the AI of your choice, step by step. From then on you just talk to your assistant in plain language. No coding required.
Which AI tools work with it?
Anything that can run a command or speak MCP: Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, Aider, Ollama, or your own agent. If it can run a shell command, it works.
Can I use a fully local LLM?
Yes. Run atbridge.ai with Ollama and a local model — Qwen2.5-14b-instruct, Llama 3, Mistral and others work well. Your AI runs on your machine, so no email content goes to any AI provider — zero cloud AI, zero API keys. (Sending mail still uses your normal mail server, as always.) The trade-off is inference speed — it depends on your hardware. A modern Apple Silicon Mac or a fast GPU makes it practical for everyday use. This is the maximum-privacy configuration.
Why Thunderbird?
Our goal is to bring local AI email to as many people as possible, and Thunderbird gives us the widest reach to start: it's free, runs on every platform, works with any inbox via IMAP, and is the only mature email client that's genuinely extensible via open WebExtension APIs. That means one integration, any provider — Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, IMAP — for every user. We're always thinking about how to reach more people.
What does "device" mean?
One machine you've activated your plan on. Free covers 1, Personal covers 2 (e.g. laptop + desktop), Pro covers 5. You can move your plan between machines from your account.
Does my AI send email without asking me?
That's up to you. You can have it save everything as drafts for review, or let it send directly. Write access for agents is off by default and you opt in explicitly.
Can I cancel?
Yes, anytime, from the Stripe customer portal linked in your account. Your plan stays active until the end of the billing period.
